Oak View National Bank reported first-quarter 2014 financial results while continuing to invest in long-term growth following the opening of its Culpeper branch. Net income declined compared to the first quarter of 2013, primarily due to the costs associated with expanding into the new market and the bank becoming fully taxable in 2014. Despite those factors, the bank continued to post strong operational growth, with loans increasing 10.6%, deposits rising 13.5%, and total assets growing 11.3% year over year.
Management emphasized that while the Culpeper branch temporarily impacted profitability, it was expected to become a significant contributor to future earnings. Credit quality remained excellent, with no nonperforming assets reported at quarter-end, reflecting the bank’s continued commitment to prudent lending and community-focused growth.
