Senior Vice President Jon D. Peavley, Oak View National Bank’s Community President for both the Warrenton and Culpeper markets, played a key role in the organization and recent opening of the bank’s Culpeper Branch. The Board of Directors of Oak View is pleased and proud to announce his promotion to Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer.
Mr. Peavley received his BS degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University in 1984, following which he began his banking career in Warrenton where he rose through the ranks of commercial and consumer lending. He and his family live in Jeffersonton, and he is a familiar figure and volunteer on the ball fields and courts of Culpeper County High School, as well as a coach for other youth leagues. He has also served as a former President of the Rappahannock Athletic Association, member of the Warrenton/Fauquier Jaycees, and a member of the Mountain View Community Church. Now in his 30th year of banking, Peavley will assume responsibilities for business development, marketing, and supervisory oversight for all Oak View communities and locations. As he hands over the Warrenton market leadership to Sam Parker, he insists that “I’m not going away. I’ll be around to support Sam in our Warrenton market, as well as all of our clients wherever needed.”
Commercial Lender Samuel W. Parker will take over the reigns from Peavley with his promotion to Vice President and Market Leader for Warrenton and surrounding areas in Fauquier County. In addition to his ongoing role as a commercial lender, he will assume responsibility for operations oversight and business development.
Parker is a lifelong Fauquier County resident and graduate of Liberty High School. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in finance from the College of William and Mary. He began his banking career in 2004 as a Credit Analyst for Marshall National Bank and Trust where, after its acquisition by PNC, he became a Corporate Credit Analyst for area branches. He joined Oak View in November 2009 as Assistant Vice President and Loan Officer, and quickly advanced to Vice President and Commercial Lender. Mr. Peavley says, “Sam is deeply committed to his role in meeting the financial needs of our local citizens and businesses, and he brings exceptional skill and expertise to that goal.”
Parker is active in many charitable and community support groups. He is Vice President of the Southern Fauquier Business Owners Association and a director of the Warrenton Rotary Club. He has been active in the Boys and Girls Club and various Chamber of Commerce events and initiatives, as well as a volunteer for the Piedmont Dispute Resolution Center. He and his wife and two young children live in Warrenton and are members of the Warrenton United Methodist Church.
