Oak View National Bank is pleased to announce the following promotions in its executive management and expanding Culpeper market.
Senior Vice President Jon D. Peavley, Oak View’s Community President for both the Warrenton and Culpeper markets, played a key role in the organization and opening of the Culpeper Branch in August 2013. The Board of Directors of Oak View National Bank proudly announces his promotion to Executive Vice President and Chief Lending Officer.
Mr. Peavley received his BS degree in Business Administration from West Virginia University in 1984, following which he began his banking career in Warrenton where he rose through the ranks of commercial and consumer lending. He and his family live in Jeffersonton, and his children attend Culpeper County schools, where he is a familiar figure and volunteer on the ball fields and courts of Culpeper County High School and as a coach for other youth leagues there. He has also served as a former President of Rappahannock Athletic Association, member of Warrenton/Fauquier Jaycees, and member of Mountain View Community Church in Culpeper. Now in his 30th year of banking, Peavley will assume responsibilities for business development, marketing, and supervisory oversight for all Oak View communities and locations. As he hands over the Culpeper market leadership to Justin McFarland, he insists that “I’m not going away. I’ll be around to support Justin in our Culpeper market, as well as all of our clients wherever needed.”
Vice President Justin McFarland is a Culpeper native and graduate of Culpeper County High School and the University of Virginia, following which he began his banking career in 1999 as a Credit Manager at Wells Fargo in Manassas. In 2002 he moved into community banking as a Consumer Lender at Second Bank and Trust in Culpeper (now StellarOne), where he was later promoted to AVP/Commercial Loan Officer. He joined Oak View National Bank in 2010 to manage the Bank’s newly established Loan Production Office in Culpeper as a Commercial Lender. He has now been promoted to Vice President and Market Leader for the full-service Oak View Culpeper Branch opened last August.
Justin and his wife and two young daughters live in Culpeper, where he is a board member and Treasurer of Services to Abused Families for the five-county region, Culpeper Mid-Day Lions board member and past President, member of the Scott M. Fisher Foundation for suicide awareness, and member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board. He is also a former Board Member and Treasurer of Culpeper Renaissance, Inc.
McFarland said “I am very grateful for the warm reception and rapid growth extended to Oak View by the citizens of Culpeper and its surrounding communities. It’s a great place to live and work and raise a family.”
