Oak View National Bank began 2019 with strong financial performance, reporting a 19.8% increase in first-quarter net income compared to the same period in 2018. The bank continued to grow loans, deposits, and total assets while maintaining excellent credit quality and disciplined expense management. Total loans increased to $202.8 million, deposits grew to $197.2 million, and total assets reached $244.8 million, reflecting steady expansion across its service area.
Management noted that despite ongoing pressure on net interest margins from rising short-term interest rates, the bank successfully improved profitability through asset growth, higher fee income, and careful control of operating expenses. The results also highlighted the bank's strong credit profile, with only two nonperforming assets at quarter-end, reinforcing Oak View's commitment to prudent community banking and long-term financial strength.
