Oak View National Bank reported second-quarter 2017 results that reflected continued growth in lending, deposits, and assets while investing in long-term expansion opportunities. Net income increased 9.2% compared to the second quarter of 2016, and earnings for the first six months of 2017 increased 33.4% year over year. The bank experienced strong loan growth of nearly 20%, deposit growth of 18.7%, and asset growth of 17.9%, demonstrating increasing demand for its community banking services.
Management noted that rising interest rates and competitive pressures in the deposit market created challenges, but the bank remained focused on balancing growth and profitability. The quarter also featured growth in noninterest income from service charges, debit card activity, and mortgage lending, while Oak View continued to maintain a strong presence in the communities it serves throughout Northern Virginia.
