Oak View National Bank reported first-quarter 2014 earnings while continuing to expand its market presence following the opening of its Culpeper branch in 2013. Although net income declined year over year due to the costs associated with the new branch and the bank becoming fully taxable in 2014, management emphasized that the expansion was a long-term investment expected to contribute to future profitability.

The bank continued to grow key areas of its business, including a 10.6% increase in loans, a 13.5% increase in deposits, and an 11.3% increase in total assets compared to the same period in 2013. Credit quality remained strong with no nonperforming assets reported at quarter-end, while growth in mortgage-related and card fee income helped boost noninterest revenue. The results highlight Oak View's continued commitment to strategic growth, community banking, and building a stronger foundation for future success.
