OAK VIEW NATIONAL BANK PRESIDENT APPOINTED TO ICBA BANK EDUCATION COMMITTEE
Warrenton, VA (June 7, 2010) – Donald R. “Duke” Yowell, Chairman of Oak View National Bank, is pleased to announce that Michael A. Ewing, President and CEO, has been appointed to serve on the Bank Education Committee for the Independent Community Banker’s Association (ICBA). Education programs, including numerous certification opportunities, are evaluated and approved by the ICBA Bank Education Committee before it is presented to community bankers. ICBA certification program participants gain up-to-date regulatory and operational skills and suggestions to take home and put into use at their institutions. To date, more than 2,400 community banking professionals have achieved ICBA certification.
Mr. Ewing stated “We have been spending significant time and energy on Capital Hill educating Congress about the important roles community banks play in supporting Main Street businesses and consumers. The leaders of Congress have come to agree with us that we do banking the right way and should not be subjected to the penalties placed upon the big banks due to the excesses of Wall Street.”
Oak View National Bank, with $75 million in assets as of March 31, 2010, is a two-branch bank with offices in Warrenton and Marshall. For more information on this appointment or about Oak View National Bank, please contact Mr. Ewing at (540) 359-7100, firstname.lastname@example.org, or visit the bank’s website at www.oakviewbank.com.
