NEW DIRECTOR APPOINTED TO OAK VIEW NATIONAL BANK'S BOARD
Warrenton, VA (February 18, 2010) – Donald “Duke” Yowell, Chairman of Oak View National Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary V. Mochary as a new director of Oak View National Bank’s board.
Ms. Mochary is very active in many not-for-profit organizations, including the Kennedy Center and the Washington National Opera. She was appointed; by Secretary of State, George Schultz, in the Reagan Administration to be Deputy Legal Advisor at the US Department of State. She remained there as a foreign policy expert and negotiator on property issues until 1993. Previously, she was elected mayor of Montclair, NJ and served from1980 until she ran for the United States Senate in 1984 as the Republican candidate challenging incumbent senator Bill Bradley.
She graduated from Wellesley College in 1963 and the University of Chicago Law School in 1967. She practiced law in Montclair from 1971 to 1984, in the firm Monchar and Mochary, which later merged with the New York firm of Lane and Mittendorf. She ran a family owned real estate investment and management company for thirty years, only recently passing management responsibilities to her son. She is also the chairman of the board of several companies with tree plantations in South America.
Oak View National Bank opened for business June 8, 2009, and has grown rapidly with assets totaling $60,678,671 as of December 31, 2009.
